My Kid's A Star - Has it been struck by the Cameron Daddo Curse?

It would appear that Channel 9 has another flop on its hands with the much hyped My Kid's A Star scoring just over 800,000 viewers.

The show based on a US series had 10 kids and their parents in a house to showcase their talent in front of the judges - a team is eliminated each week.

But is it the format or has the curse of Cameron Daddo struck again?

Cameron who has lived in the US for the past 10 years was brought back to host the series. But this is the guy who has not had a hit on his hand since he was hosting Perfect Match about 15 years ago.

His last attempt as a reality tv host was on Pirate Master, and this ended in disaster with that show pulled from Australian TV screens before the series had finished.

And prior to that he has been in a career black hole for years.

Maybe tv channels need to stop regurgitating the same old names to host shows and try and find some new talent.
