Reality Tidbits
Anthony Ikin from Season 1 of So You Think You Can Dance Australia is to open his own studio in Sydney.
Kate Wormald, Demi Sorono, and Marco da Silva who were also on SYTYCD Au this year will help staff the studio.
Anthony who used to live and teach up on the Gold Coast, has now moved down to Sydney. I suspect a man is involved as he met a guy down here while he was filming the series. Good to know the relationship is still going well.
Also Jason Coleman's studio in Melbourne is to open next week. Apparently some of the other dance studios in the town are not happy about it as they are concerned about the loss of students to the high profile Coleman.
Is Jason copying that other SYTYCD judge Debbie Allen who has her own studio in LA, and uses the show to shamelessly plug it?
Farmer Wants A Wife - Girl Farmer Chosen
Jenny Blake the 32 year old Tumbarumba cattle farmer will be the first woman on the series. Unfortunately only one woman will be on the show and the Northern Territory beef breeder Shona will have to wait until next year.
People have until tomorrow to register interest in this year's farmers on www.farmerwantsawife.com.au

Interview With So You Think You Can Dance Judge Jason Coleman on Fame the Second Time Around
In a refreshingly honest interview Jason Coleman how fame the second time around is much more humbling.
Exerpt below:
He has grown more confident personally and professionally in the eight years between judging Popstars and So You Think You Can Dance Australia. His first appearance on a TV judging panel was on Popstars -- the reality series that catapulted Sophie Monk to stardom in manufactured girl band Bardot.
Now as head judge on SYTYCDA, Coleman has hit his stride -- winning new fans with his refreshingly honest and articulate assessment of the dancers on his show. ‘‘I was at a more needy point in life when I was doing Popstars,'' he says. ‘‘I was not as confident in myself.
The downsides of fame is being public property and having two women proposition him in a nightclub. For the record he turned them down.
Also he said one of the producers wanted him to have a catchphrase for when a routine was good like Mark Holden's 'touchdown'.
He agreed to consider the idea, but refused the catchphrase offered to him. ‘‘He (producer) said ‘how about you say That was W-W-Wicked every time you like a dancer's performance?','' Coleman says, rolling his eyes. ‘‘I told them: ‘N-N-No way!' ''

So You Think You Can Dance Tidbits
Television Without Pity forums had this posted on their forum (It may have come from the official site). However it seem like someone VERY close to Kate posted it.
Some of you may not know that Kate seriously injured her neck wednesday morning of this week, whilst rehearsing this weekends performance. Such was the seriousness of the injury that she has been unable to rehearse for the last two days. Only able to watch from the sidelines, so to speak. Can't say I am too happy with the producers in the way they dealt with the situation, leaving Kate unattended and without medical supervision for 6 HOURS! Many thanks go out to Kates' osteo, Petros, who has provided after hours treatment for the last 48 hrs! I am asking all of you that that read this to please harness your positive thoughts and energies, and direct them to Kate for this evenings performance! Many thanks to all of you!
Which raises the question should you be given leniency if you are injured? Personally I don't think so - athletes are not. However I am sure this popular couple will manage to get through. What about when Pasha in last years US series had to dance with the Cha Cha with the choreographers assistant - that was hilarious him having to sex it up with a not svelte middle aged woman. The sympathy vote got him through!
Jason Coleman happy with how he is portrayed on the series.
In an offline Daily Tele article Jason Coleman says he is reasonably happy with the way producers have portrayed him in this series.
"When I was on Popstars they showed a one-dimensional version of me,"
"In this show, they're showing all the sides, when I'm tired, cranky, angry and sad. I really like that."
Jason also states he is not one for the emotional back stories which reality show producers are incline to trot out at every opportunity.
"I'm not such a fan of the sob stories," he says. "This about dancing and let's keep it about dancing. I couldn't care less if your mum died or your dog has cancer. But I suppose it does make the program engaging for people who don't know so much about dancing.
I tend to agree with him, however if my memory serves me correctly wasn't Jason the one at the auditions asking all the personal questions?? Obviously under the orders of the Producers.

A SYTYCD choreographer takes a swipe at the show
She was unhappy when Jason Coleman, told more than 1.5 million viewers that he hated the routine Shah created for dancers and Graeme.
Shah who decided to fuse Bollywood with hip-hop to show an Australian audience this unique style of dance said his comments were "not called for".
"The general feel for all of us (choreographers) is that the US (version of the) show was not about judging the choreographers," she said.
"But here (in Australia), we were all holding hands in the audience. It's such an emotional rollercoaster.
"The show is about how the dancers interpret what they're given ... not about the choreography."
Shah, who has more than 30 years' experience in dance and has choreographed for other hit shows like Dancing with the Stars India, was stressed about being "judged and scrutinised".
Interestingly she had to create the entire concept for her piece not just the choreography designing the image with makeup and costumes, music and lighting.
"I kept thinking, 'Is it good enough? Is it up to scratch? Is it what they want to see?', because it (the brief) was so free," she said.
She admitted she would have to think twice about being involved in the show again. "You are putting your reputation on the line and it's very easy for someone to make a rash comment and ruin your business," she said.
Maybe after all the criticism about the fusion styles the producers have stepped in to tell the choreographers to keep it simple. I disagree with her when she says the choreographers should not be judged, if that is the case the judges should not give them positive feedback when they think their routine is great.
This show is a prime opportunity for them (the choreographers) to showcase their talent worldwide.
As the series progresses it will be interesting to see which choreographers get more time, and which ones get dumped.

Marko takes a swipe at Jason Coleman
Marko said Coleman played favourites. "The main complaint as dancers (in the show) is his inconsistency in his judgments,"
"I do think he (Coleman) knows what he's talking about, but if he likes you he will talk you up."
Also a unnamed source criticised Jason Coleman.
A choreographer, who also declined to be named, said Coleman's on-air judgments were driven by his business interests with Kelly Aykers. The pair is involved in the launch of a multi-million-dollar Melbourne dance studio, Ministry Of Dance. Coleman denied there was a conflict of interest: "Kelly Aykers has delivered three great routines. I would never put myself in a position where I'd compliment a person's work because they are my friend," he said.
So the knives are out in the small knit dance world in Australia.
And Marko the reason you were dumped was your lack of personality.

Jason Coleman - Who Magazine interview
Summarised for those who are interested:

- He dances everyday "Even if it's in my living room, or freestyling at the traffic lights;
- His favourite piece of clothing is a tricollared pink Christian Dior shirt, worn open to show off his well-defined chest; Did he wear that one night on tv?

Reality Tidbits - So You Think You Can Dance
The Sunday Tele states:
Could the show be losing its best dancers because Sydney viewers aren't voting for their own?
I really care about the integrity of the competition and not just the popular people from small town cities,'' Coleman told Insider, before begging NSW to get behind Graeme, Rhiannon, Henry, Vanessa and Kate.
He thinks Stephanie is only there because of the Perth support for your partner Marko.
Also Jason Coleman says he and the other judges were devastated at having to eliminate Hilton and Kassy last week.
HMMMMM isn't Jason being a bit hypocritical saying he wants people not to be kept in because they get geographically voted in to say, but tells us Sydneysiders should vote for their own?
Maybe the Sydney people have the most integrity by actually voting for the routine and dancers they actually like!
Camilla nearly quit dancing last year.
It is reported in the Courier Mail, that popular So You Think You Can Dance contestant Camilla Jakimowicz nearly quit professional dancing last year.
"Last year I was having a slow year and I was like, 'Maybe this isn't what I really want to do. Maybe I should look at having a normal job and making a real life for myself'."
That was until So You Think You Can Dance rejuvenated her passion.
"I saw this as a challenge both for me professionally and as a person," she said.
Lucky for us she decided to audition, as she is a great dancer to watch.
Mary Murphy to Guest Judge Tonight
In an interview in Adelaide Now (you have to scroll down), Mary Murphy states she has been checking out the Australian dancers this week.
"I'm amazed at the level of talent," she said. "I didn't know what to expect and I'm surprised by how high the standard is. And I'll be holding them to a high standard. They're definitely up to the same standard as the American dancers.
"It's phenomenal talent. And it's a good-looking group of people too, which never hurts."
Mary, who's in Australia for a week, said she particularly enjoyed the hip-hop routine by ballroom dancers Henry and Vanessa last week, and she described dancer Graeme as "a star that is being moulded". "He continues to surprise everybody," she said.
She also says she won "favourite judge or host" at the recent Reality TV Awards ahead of Donald Trump and Simon Cowell. I got to be honest I would have loved Simon Cowell to have won the award, just for the ignominy of him having to accept it.

Sydney Star Observer interview with Jason Coleman
There is a revealing interview with the judge Jason Coleman. He is clearly not looking to go to the US with his quote "Americans have so much bravado, they’re so fucking out there with the whole ‘I’m so fabulous and everybody look at me’. Australians are much more humble,” he said.
Link to article here.
And to all those people googling "Jason Coleman gay?" the answer is revealed in the article.

Reality Tidbits
The Daily Terror today states taht Jordan Loukas has signed on with Mark Byrne Management to try her hand at acting.
Her modelling career has not taken off as hoped after the reality series Runway to LA that was screen last year on Fox 8. Loukas has now been bitten by the acting bug. She has already been to castings for a soap opera, a drama and a new series. Good Luck.
Jason Coleman to open a dance studio in Melbourne
Jason Coleman one of the judges on SYTYCD Australia, is planning to relocate from Sydney to Melbourne to open a dance studio. He plans to open it in May.
It should be a popular studio, as his profile has now sky rocketed into the mainstream since his gig on SYTYCD.
How dumb are you Denise lunch lady from Survivor China?
Denise the lunch lady who finished top 4 on Survivor China at the renunion had said that she had not been able to get her old job back, and Mark Burnett the Producer, gave her $50,000.
However there was more to the story then meets the eye, as apparently prior to her leaving she was given the janitor's job which is a higher wage. Clearly she was not totally transparent about her situation, and obviously she was going to be found out. Click here for full story including the schools press release refuting her sob story.
Lesson if you are going to spin bullshit make sure it is not on a high rating tv show, as you will get caught out. Clearly she does "suck at life".

Australia So you Think You Can Dance
The Guide in the SMH are first to kick it off this week. The article states Channel Ten have indicated they will stay pretty faithful to the US format.
"We felt it was worth a punt," says Ten's head of programming, David Mott. "Actually, another network had the format but let it lapse. Maybe that was for a good reason, as I think that was the network that went with Dancing With The Stars. But we thought maybe there was something in it.
"The overseas version rated about a million for us. So we engaged Fremantle Media, because of the great job they've done with Idol, and we've stayed pretty faithful to the format."
Another interesting tidbit from the article was that another TV channel had had rights to the show but did not use them. The elude that it was Channel 7 who concentrated on their high rating Dancing With the Stars.
Also they state that Bonnie Lythgoe won't play the hanging judge like her (?ex) husband Nigel Lythgoe does in the US. That role will go to the Jason Coleman, who has had a host of choreography experience.
Also they have been surprised at the dancing depth Australia has produced. So it should be a great series.

Australia So You Think You Can Dance - first look at dancers
It looks hot, hot, hot and I wonder if any on this tape will end up being in the final 20.
This tantalising look just continues to whet my appetite for this fantastic show.
So You Think You Can Dance looks like it is going to be huge here when it starts in February following on from the increase in ratings the US version received here this season.
Jason Coleman looks like he will be the outspoken judge, and Bonnie Lythgoe just looked gorgeous.
Check it out here.
